Honoring the Blue: The Hotsinpiller Foundation’s Paint the Night Blue Gala

Every now and then we are asked to be part of a night that is bigger than a party. Paint the Night Blue was one of those nights.
The gala is hosted by the Hotsinpiller Foundation, which carries forward the memory of Jim and Derek Hotsinpiller, Jim, who served with the Bridgeport Police Department, and Derek, who made the ultimate sacrifice serving with the U.S. Marshals Service. What began as a memorial scholarship has grown into a foundation that supports first responders and law enforcement families across West Virginia and beyond. Paint the Night Blue is its evening of music, dancing, and gratitude, where the community comes together to give back to the people who serve and protect.
An evening like that deserves to be treated with care.
What we brought
We kept our setup elegant and understated, and we designed a custom branded overlay in the foundation’s signature blue so that every portrait carried the meaning of the night. Guests stepped up in their best, and stepped away with a keepsake that honored why they came.
That is the quiet power of a booth at a cause event: it gives people something to hold onto from a night they will not forget.
Why it worked
There is a particular kind of joy in a room full of people who are there for someone else. The booth gave that joy a place to land, a moment to laugh with the people beside you, and a print to remember the evening by. Every photo shared afterward put the foundation’s mission in front of one more person.
To the Hotsinpiller family and everyone who keeps Jim and Derek’s legacy alive: thank you for letting us help paint the night blue.
